MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 25, 2018 — Waterline Data, a global leader in Data Lifecycle Management, today announced a successful 2017 fueled by more Fortune 100 and Global Fortune 500 customer wins. Waterline Data credits the growth to more organizations needing faster visibility, access, and cataloging of data across their entire data estate, spanning RDBMS, Cloud, and Data Lakes.
In 2017, Waterline Data grew its business six-fold from the year before as more of the world’s largest companies adopted Waterline to unlock their mountains of trapped data. Waterline Data now counts some of the world’s largest financial, food & beverage, tech, healthcare, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies in the Fortune 100 and Global Fortune 500 as its customers.
“We are very excited to choose Waterline Data in our new data platform to automatically understand what data we have, where it is, and the relevant context of the data,” said Mark Ramsey, SVP, R&D Data at GlaxoSmithKline.
“It’s rare for companies to grow so much so quickly,” said Andrew Ahn, VP Product Management at Waterline Data. “The innovation that we introduced to the market to help our customers find, govern, and rationalize data under a single solution is unique and disruptive, and it shows in the caliber of customers and partners that have embraced us.”
A growing number of Waterline Data’s new customer wins were closed through the company’s partnerships with InfoSys, Leidos and Wipro. Waterline Data also signed new and expanded agreements with T-Systems, MapR, FICO, Trace3 and more.
“While data-driven decision-making and deep analytics are creating unparallelled opportunities for the enterprise, the equally unprecedented sprawl of data is making it difficult for customers to find, understand, trust and leverage their data,” said Alex Gorelik, Founder and CEO of Waterline Data. “Government regulations like GDPR are making this situation potentially risky and financially punitive. Waterline Data allows decision makers to find the data that they need to make decisions, while complying with governmental and internal regulations.”
